Karlskrona municipality has 64.500 inhabitants.

All households need to have waste collection via the municipality. The collection and treatment is financed 100% by fees, and no tax is allocated. The households are supposed to sort the packages (most fractions) at 53 recycling stations all over the municipality, as well as at Bubbetorp Recycling Central (all fractions).

The standard collection includes two trash bins per household. One green for sorted combustible waste and one brown for organic kitchen waste.
