The European Commission recently published a study aiming at supporting EU Member States for the design and implementation of waste prevention programmes. Indeed, the Waste Framework Directive (Directive EC/2008/98) imposes Member States to adopt such waste prevention programmes by the end of 2013. This study include information aimed primarily at national policymakers, but can be adapted to feed regional or local waste prevention programmes.
