In October 2011, an experts’ training seminar on waste prevention will be organised by SPCII Ilfov, the Romanian Pre-waste partner, in Bucharest. This training seminar will address the transferability of waste prevention good practices and the development of waste prevention plans.

The training event will be preceeded with a national conference on waste prevention, also organised by SPCII Ilfov. The training will aim to provide pratical and concrete information on how to transfer waste prevention good practices to a local authorities' territory and on how to build up a local or regional waste prevention programme.

It is to be noted that The European waste framework Directive EC/2008/98 sets the obligation for Member States to develop waste prevention plans by the end of 2012. Obviously, these plans will find a concrete implementation at local and regional levels and will therefore need local and regional waste pervention programmes.
