EWWR 2014 awards ceremony on 28 May 2015

The award winners of the European Week for Waste Reduction awards have been rewarded at the EWWR awards ceremony held on 27 May 2015, in Budapest. After the finalists for the EWWR awards had already been announced in March 2014, the announcement of the winners ended the breathtaking suspense that filled the air of the Budapest Congress Centre.

The EWWR awards rewarded the most outstanding awareness-raising actions implemented during the EWWR 2014 in each of the categories of Action Developers: Administration/Public Authority, Association/NGO, Business/Industry, Educational Establishment, Citizens, and Others. You can find the names of the winners release in a Press Release and find out more about all finalist actions in the comprehensive Press File.

The awards ceremony took place in the scope of a two-day congress held the 27th and 28th of May in Budapest: “New approaches to the national waste management”. Having closed the conference “Moving away from landfill & incineration: circular economy in practice”, jointly organised by ACR+ and NWMA, the EWWR awards was the occasion to give concrete examples on how to implement a circular economy.
